Joseph Stewart County Park

Joseph-Stewart-Camping
Joseph H. Stewart Recreation Area overlooks Lost Creek Lake, the popular destination for hikers, bikers, anglers and boaters.

The park is about 40 miles from Crater Lake National Park and makes an excellent jumping-off point for an exploration of southern Oregon.

Joseph-Stewart-campingYear-round CampingAs of April 1, 2021, Oregon State Parks Discounts and Waivers do not apply to Joseph Stewart Park, due to the park changing operations to Jackson County Parks.

The park offers over 200 campsites, many with electric hookups. Ideally located along the Rogue River, the campground is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the many features the park has to offer. Family-friendly bike paths leading to the day use area, swim beach, resort and other amenities are a great way to spend the day exploring. For those that are more adventurous, the park is a perfect home base to explore the upper Rogue River, Crater Lake and the Southern Oregon Cascades.

Stretch your legs on 5½ miles of hiking trails and 6 miles of bike paths within the park. The trails connect the day-use area with the campground and connect with other trails outside the park. A trail near the Group Camp restroom crosses a bridge and leads to a small, scenic waterfall.

Joseph Stewart is near the U.S. Forest Service’s Upper Rogue River hiking trail, which connects with the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail near Crater Lake.
